Skyping Comes to Facebook

Free video chat is coming to Facebook. The company will integrate Skype into its social networking service- opening up its 750 million users to the video conferencing company.

[Lance Ulanoff, Editor in Chief, PCMag.com]:
“This introduction of Skype integration does make Facebook a better service because without a doubt it’s probably one of the number one things people wanted to do mainly because of who uses Facebook. Average people use Facebook. Not the technorati.”

The roll out comes just a week after rival Google unveiled Google+, which allows up to 10 people to participate in a video call. The Facebook service is initially limited to video chats between two people. The move also closer aligns Facebook to Microsoft – which owns a small share of Facebook and is in the process of buying Skype, to beef up its web offerings.
